Lymphocytes differentiation, tolerance and metabolism: basis for immunotherapy
Our main objective is to further understand how the deregulation of the immune system leads to pathology and to set the basis for new immunotherapeutic strategies against disease. In particular, we focus on the role of cytotoxic lymphocytes in the onset of autoimmune diabetes and the defense against lympho- and myelo-proliferative diseases. To accomplish this objective, we will use patient’s samples and pertinent animal models of disease to pursue the following specific aims.
- Thematic 1. NK cell development, expansion and function in pathological conditions
- Thematic 2. CD8+ T cell activation and differentiation versus peripheral tolerance to pancreatic antigens. Naïve and Memory CD8+ T cell tolerance to pancreatic antigens
